Hello, my name is Megan and I'm a qualified, experienced and friendly dog behaviourist offering behaviour and training services in and around Lincoln!

My Ethos

I’m really passionate about my work and getting the message out there that there is no place for harmful corrections, aversive equipment (shock collars, prong collars, choke chains, etc.), fear or intimidation when training dogs.

I take pride in my compassionate and empathetic approach to behaviour therapy and training - your dog’s welfare and emotional wellbeing is always my top priority, so I only use ethical, science-backed, force-free and effective positive reinforcement methods to strengthen and nurture the bond between you and your dog. You’ll never see me use a slip lead or choke chain!

Many of my clients say they feel calm when I’m around and it’s really important to me that our time together is a safe space and free from judgement. I’m always honest and happy to chat about your thoughts, feelings and worries.

I’m always learning too! I stay up-to-date with the latest research in dog behaviour. I’m dedicated to furthering my education and knowledge by completing over 30 hours of CPD every year.

I recognise that there is no one-fits-all method and treat your dog as an individual, tailoring my approach to get the best results for your unique journey towards sustainable behaviour change for your dog.

My Background

It sounds cliché, but I’ve always been a dog lover and I grew up around dogs, from my 17-year old terrier to our family German Shepherd. I’ve had every dog-related job you can think of, from dog walking, veterinary care, dog day care, to dog sitting!

It wasn’t until I started volunteering and working for a dog rescue charity that I found my passion - to ensure as many dogs as possible don’t end up without a home.

I have gained lots of experience over the years, caring for and training a wide variety of breeds and temperaments.

With a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln, taught by some of the world’s leading veterinary behaviour experts, you can be reassured that you are working with someone you can trust.

I started my business in 2021 and had quite a whirlwind start after the COVID-19 lockdown - since then, I have helped hundreds of dogs and owners with their behaviour/training woes with great success.

Currently, I am a pre-certified/Associate member of the Association of Pet Behaviour counsellors. Associate members have demonstrated that they have the appropriate level of knowledge and understanding for the professional role of Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB). I am currently working hard to gain all the practical experience necessary to be assessed as a CAB and therefore become a full member of the APBC. The APBC supports its provisional members undertaking behaviour consultations. I hope to become fully certified in the next year!
