Did someone say treat? Keeping your dog safe this Howl-o-ween!

Halloween can be great fun for us but lots of doorbell rings, decorations and people in costumes can make some dogs feel anxious and uncomfortable.

Here's how to help your dog feel less stressed this Halloween:

🎃 Take your dog out for a walk earlier, before it gets dark and trick-or-treaters start to appear.

👻 Distract them from loud noises by putting on the TV or radio. Prepare a Kong or a Lickimat to give them something nice to do.

🍬 Keep some dog treats handy for when people come to the door, to help build positive associations.

🕷️ Don't dress your dog in a costume if they are showing signs of anxiety when wearing it, such as licking their lips, cowering with their tail tucked under, shaking, hiding or turning their head away. Consider getting a Halloween-themed collar instead!

🦇Help your dog get familiar with your costume by encouraging them to smell and investigate before you put it on

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!
